Shift Team Lead Onshore
What will you do
The two underground gas storage facilities in Alkmaar are called Peak Gas Installation Alkmaar and Gas Storage Bergermeer.
Both storage facilities fulfil a strategic and different role in the security of energy supply, at a time when the Netherlands is going to import more and more gas to continue to meet the demand of households, businesses and industry in the coming decades. Gas storage facilities will then be needed to store the imported gas.
The Shift Team Leader (STL) is the team leader of one of the Onshore Operations shifts. The shifts cover a 24/7 operation in a 5 shift system. The shifts consists of a Shift Team Leaders (STL), CRO’s and E/I Technician/Operators. The STL has a background of CRO or E/I technician / Operator. The STL reports to the Production Team Lead (PTL). The STL is accountable for meeting the flow requests from the customers by operating installations and the equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The STL communicates with the Dispatchers of the Commercial Team in order to assure plant capacity and nominations are understood and to maximize business potential of the installation.
The STL leads his shift in order to assures all required operational tasks will be completed. The STL will lead, coach and develop his team members. The STL assures process data is gathered, work orders assigned to his shift are completed, and malfunctions of equipment are reported through Maximo. The STL will work with a weekly plan and will delegate this as daily instructions to his team. In the event of upsets or emergencies the STL will act as the Onscene Commander. In this role the STL will instruct his team, escalate to the Incident Commander and will Liaise with the On-scene Commander of the Local Emergency Response Services. The STL will rotate across the shifts and as STL-Day and should be capable of deputizing for the Production Team Lead when needed or being able to lead small-scale operational projects.
Responsibilities
Health, Safety, Security and Environment:
Promoting a high level of awareness on safety and environment and being recognized as Safety Leader
Maintains and promotes a high level of awareness on safety and environment
Ensuring that safety issues are recorded through the OOG GO card system
Ensuring that incident and process upsets are reported promptly in accordance to TAQA procedures
Ensuring that safety overrides and operational deviations are adequately assessed and authorized
Ensuring that Safe systems of work (MOC, LOTO, PTW etc.) are adhered to at all times
Acting on security issues
Ensuring all relevant operating or special instructions are communicated to the opposite shift both verbally and by entries into the logbook
Preventing emissions
Acting upon and reporting emissions
Reviewing documents such as Safety Cases
Safe & efficient process control in case of upsets or emergencies
Acting as On-scene commander during emergency response situations
Flow instructions:
Meeting the nomination and the operational requirements by operating the installation through MES
Safely and effectively minimizing deviations to the nomination
Informing the Dispatchers of the Commercial team and the Day Shift Team Leader on plant availability and plant capacity
Reporting clearly and consistently all deviations on equipment through Maximo
Communicating with GTS on issues related to Grid pressure, Gas quality or Fiscal metering
Maximizing the plant reliability by balancing energy consumption and usage of equipment
Adjusting equipment downtime through MES in a timely manner
Leadership:
Performance evaluations with his team members
Coaching and developing his team members
Advising the Deputy OIM and PTL on team performance and shift coordination
Assuring, in close cooperation with the PTL, his shift will be covered with all required skill sets at all times
Control of work:
Verification and the approval of the safe release of installations for maintenance
Acting as ‘Verstrekker’ within the Work Permit system, ensuring all required safety precautions are stated in the Work Permit and TRA
Performing workplace inspections on site
Assessing the risks associated with setting overrides and approving overrides in his shift
Escalating approval for setting overrides if required
Improvement Processes:
Raising and following up on improvement options through the MOC system
Reporting on well and plant performance
Acting on symptoms of problems or potential problems
Support investigations of causes through analyzing and providing data and by participating in RCA’s
Participate, where necessary in Root Cause Analysis and identification of solution
Reviewing procedures and after consultation with the PTL updating these
Data management:
The collection of all relevant data into the operational data collection systems such as the logbook and Maximo before his shift is over
Plant performance monitoring using such as WESP and engineering guidelines
Gathering all required information to fulfill his duties
Usage of Maximo in his shift.
What we search for in you
We’re happy to hear from professionals with an (V)MBO education in a technical, electronics or process technology direction or equivalent work experience and 10+ years' experience in hazardous process industries. In this role you'll require both Dutch and English language skills.
