P18 Project OIM

What will you do

The P18 Project Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) is the senior onsite authority responsible for managing all offshore activities during the P18 Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) platform conversion and modification project. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant execution of construction, installation, commissioning, and integration works on an existing offshore platform as it transitions to CCS functionality.

The P18 OIM leads multidisciplinary teams, coordinates with vessels and contractor interfaces, and maintains strict adherence to regulatory, operational, and HSE requirements. The role is critical to ensure project milestones are achieved without compromising safety or asset integrity.

This assignment is temporary and will run from 9 September 2026 through 31 December 2026. The position follows a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation schedule throughout the duration of the assignment.

1. Leadership & Operational Management

• Serve as the authority offshore, accountable for all project related personnel on board of the P18 facility.

• Supervise daily coordination of project activities including construction, installation, commissioning, SIMOPS, facility access- and control of work management.

• Ensure all work aligns with project scope, operational philosophies, approved work packs and procedures for the CCS conversion.

• Ensure adherence to the 28d plan requirements according to the Integrated Activity Process (IAP).

2. HSE Management & Regulatory Compliance

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with national regulations and TAQA standards.

• Oversee implementation and manages the use of the Permit to Work (PTW) system, risk assessment process, conducts toolbox talks and initiates HSE audits.

• Adheres to the Valaris & TAQA Emergency Response Plan and acts as liaison between TAQA and the Valaris-123 Head of Concurrent Operations (HCO).

3. Project Execution & Technical Oversight

• Coordinate all offshore phases of platform modification including structural upgrades, topside modification, process system installation, and tie-ins.

• Oversee mechanical completion (MC), pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities for new CCS systems (compression, injection, monitoring).

• Ensure SIMOPS are fully controlled between operations, decommissioning areas, drilling/workover units, and construction teams.

• Review and validate engineering work packs, lift plans, isolation plans, and project interface documents according to the frozen plan.

• Ensure proper handover to Porthos PSO following completion of commissioning.

4. Stakeholder & Interface Coordination

• Act as the offshore focal point for communication between Valaris-123, project team, and project related contractors.

• Provide daily activity reports (e.g. DPR & SodM report), progress updates, and risk & constraint assessments to onshore management.

• Coordinate project execution activities (drilling / construction vessels, heavy lift, diving / ROV spreads) and ensure safe simultaneous operations.

5. People Management

• Lead a diverse team of technicians, supervisors, engineers, and contractors.

• Ensure competence verification, onboarding, and compliance with training and certification requirements.

• Maintain positive team culture and operational discipline during the several challenging offshore project phases.

What we search for in you

We’re happy to hear from professionals with a Technical degree (HTS or equivalent level experience) and a valid MOME NOGEPA 2.14 Certificate, BOSIET/FOET, Medical, and all mandatory (NOGEPA) offshore safety training with at least 10+ years offshore experience on platforms. In this role you'll require both Dutch and English language skills.

• Project Management Certification

• At least 5 years in a supervisory or OIM-level role on offshore platforms.

• Experience with brownfield modifications, heavy lifts, integration works, and SIMOPS.

• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, process safety, and permit-to-work systems.

• Background in structural modification, topside integration, or commissioning management.

• Familiarity with ISO, API and regulatory frameworks & standards.

• Strong leadership & communication

• Decisiveness under pressure

• Advanced understanding of offshore operational risk

• Safety-first mindset

• Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities

• Ability to lead in multicultural offshore environments

• Living in the Netherlands
